Teams Involved: Core Research Team, Design Team, and a Multimedia Team
In 2024, Archivi.ng embarked on an insightful project that documented the top 100 students who excelled in Nigeria's 2009 WAEC exams. This initiative offered a glimpse into the academic lives of some of the nation’s brightest young minds and captured the curiosity of audiences eager to understand where these individuals are today. Building on the success of that project, we now aim to expand our scope by tracing the journey of Nigeria’s top WAEC students from 2008 through 2024.
Implementing Team
The Research team will be leading the project. Key responsibilities include engaging with WAEC representatives to secure access to relevant datasets, conducting in-depth data analysis, and synthesizing findings from various sources, such as media articles and career profiles.
Supporting this effort, the General Operations (Ops) team will handle all administrative and logistical tasks critical to the project’s success. From facilitating introductions and correspondence with BudgIT then to WAEC and organizing meetings, managing logistics, and ensuring timely follow-ups, the General Ops team will provide the operational backbone for the project.

In 1977, Nigeria hosted the historic Second World Black and African Festival of Arts and Culture, popularly known as FESTAC ‘77. Held in Lagos, this monumental event brought together artists, scholars, and cultural enthusiasts from over 50 African and African diasporic nations to celebrate Black and African heritage.
