Process Management
Daily routines
- Check all threads to see if questions have been unanswered for more than 24hrs. Nag/escalate as needed. Also check for pending decisions and action items that need to be confirmed
- Eg. Joshua helping with reviewing Farouq’s code and documentation next steps.
- Keep an eye out for potential miscommunications. Create clarity by asking questions and recapping publicly on slack.
- If someone promised a deliverable by a specific date, make sure they provide it. Nag/escalate as needed.
- Maintain and update the tracker for product feature deliverables.
- Whenever a new deliverable is ready for review (eg. designs, new features on staging)
- Identify who needs to review it and sign off on it
- Make sure the reviewers know it’s ready for review and provide a deadline for feedback
- Chase reviewers down as needed
- For feedback on the live website functionality, collect feedback on behalf of the engineers. Organize it and prioritize it before sharing with engineering.
Weekly routines (particularly during the week between meetings)
- Check in with team to see if they are on track with their commitments for the 2-week period
- Check the feedback form and see if anything has come in.
- Check google analytics and Microsoft clarity for trends in user behavior. Share those observations with the team.
Pre-meeting
- Reflect on the past 2 weeks and identify if there are specific topics we should discuss in the meeting.
- Are there important top-down updates to share from the full-time team?
- Are there things we need to discuss live as a team? Which of them are most urgent and timely to focus on?
- What is the best use of everyone’s time together vs. what should be a smaller group discussion?
- Share meeting agenda and the prioritized review/discussion topics one day in advance
